I like the idea of Substack as a magazine. It seems obvious now that you’ve mentioned it, but seeing that thought in print has changed my perspective on the medium. It’s also given me an idea that I might try. More on that if I follow through with it.
Great post! Looking forward to more of your work, although I'm still working through it! I was unfamiliar with Black Cat Weekly, looks like a great venue to sub stories to!
I was a bit nervous initially, not sure if I could sustain the rhythm, but it has gone well. You get in a routine. The funny thing is that some of my best entries were written when I was really under the gun time wise.
Jim C is one of my favs!! He is the heir apparent of Jim Harrison who was also one of my fav writers. Thanks, Martine!
Funny how we stumbled on the same writers... we have good tastes, don't we!
Damn right!!
Thank you so much, Martine for the boost. I sincerely appreciate your kind words.
I will have to check out Punk Noir and Black Cat Weekly. Congrats on being featured in the Aerosmith anthology and for 2 years on Substack.
My pleasure, Jim. I'm one of your fans.
Always a pleasure to read you!
Thank you!
Congrats on two years, Martine, glad to have found you in the "pile." :)
Same here!

The mag thing hit me as I was writing the post. It's actually better than a mag because each reader plays EIC, no duds in that table of contents...
Always so generous. The feeling is quite mutual!
I truly enjoy your posts.

Oh yes, it's a great place! The thing is, the mag is so big it's hard to keep up. I need to clone myself to be able to read all that stuff :)
